Amerie’s Getting Married?!

Look’s like Amerie is no longer a free agent and is now engaged to her business partner Len Nicholson. Radio personality Angela Yee shared the news via twitter. According to the report the couple got engaged in Paris. Amerie usually keeps her personal life pretty private, but maybe she’s about to open up a little more. Just a few months ago the million dollar legged singer released her debut Def Jam release, “In Love & War”. This is definitely sad news for me and many others out there. Here’s a new one, “Stilettos & T-shirt” from Bobby Valentino and it features the female go to rapper Nicki Minaj. While the cut sounds like a rejected Songz track, it’s still a pretty catchy one. If released to radio the song could do fairly well. Maybe it’s just me, but Nicki is on so many songs that her verses are starting to sound a little identical. Do you agree? Takin’ It Back: Missy Elliott – The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly)

Anytime it rains, the first song that comes to my head is this hip hop classic right here. Missy Elliott was always so innovative with her videos. “The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly)” is no exception. I can’t wait for Missy to make a proper return to the music scene and hopefully she hits up the studio with Timbaland and create some of that old magic. Watch, nod, and send me some suggestions for the next Throwback video!

Spankin’ New Video: KanYe West- Coldest Winter

Talk about knowing how to completely market a product until there’s nothing left. KanYe just dropped a video for “Coldest Winter” off of his “808 & Heartbreak” album. This definitely came by surprise as KanYe is currently in the studio working on his next album. The video is no different than any other KanYe video. It brilliantly uses fashion, art, and story telling to bring a story to life in ways that not many other artists can do. KanYe never fails to impress me with the videos. On another note though, I am kind of looking forward to Spring and the seasons to change…maybe this should have been released in let’s say, November or December?

Spankin’ New Video: Monica- Everything To Me

Here is Monica’s first video from her “Still Standing” project, for the Missy Elliott produced “Everything To Me”. Monica looks great in the clip, but the plot really doesn’t match the song. We will give her a B for effort though. The song is a favorite though and is currently climbing the charts thanks to regaining public attention with her show “Still Standing” and her appearance on Keyshia Cole’s “Trust”. Her album is due next month and we are definitely looking forward to it!

Tabloid Junk: Jennifer Lopez Dropped & Album Shelved?

Seems like it’s hard for a lot of the veterans these days. Just when everyone thought Jenny was about to emerge from the block with some heat, it seems as though Sony dropped her. The singer’s album “Love?” has also been shelved indefinitely according to reports. While reps for the singer are saying they left on a mutual agreement, other reports are also saying that the label decided to pull the plug on the relationship after her Tricky Stewart/Dream produced and penned single “Loubotins” bombed. Word is that she isn’t wasting any time and have been meeting with Island Music Group’s head LA Reid. Read more for a full report.

Here’s a dope one from Snoop Dogg and Kid Cudi, appropriately titled “That Tree”. The cut is done by Diplo, who is famous for his work with M.I.A. This is a banger right here! The switch up in the beat is sick. If you didn’t pick up that “Malice In Wonderland” album make sure you do that A.S.A.P.! It was definitely a favorite of 2009.

New Music: Ludacris ft. Lil’ Kim & Lil’ Fate- Hey Ho

Here’s a new track off of Ludacris’s upcoming “Battle of the Sexes” album. On the cut which features Lil’ Kim & Lil’ Fate, Ludacris challenges the double standard of men sleeping around and being cool and women doing they same while being called “hos”. While it is not as infectious as “How Low” or the Nicki Minaj collaboration “My Chick Is Bad” the song is definitely another hot track. This album is really shaping up much better than Ludacris’s last project “Theater Of The Mind”.
