TechTalk YouTube Updates
Posted in Tech Talk by MarkeseJD
I don’t know if any of you noticed but YouTube has been doing a couple subtle upgrades that might peek your interest.
- First was the scrolling comments. The scrolling comments allows you to see in real time other peoples comments without having to refresh the page or anything like that. This could come in handy if you are watching a fairly popular video or having a conversation with someone within the comments
- Next came the snake game. I know what you are thinking “Whats the point of a snake game on YouTube?” and well……. all I can say is that I don’t really know. It is cool though. All you have to do is hold left on your keyboard to start the game. Its amusing at best. Just something cool I figured you should see.
- And the last thing they added was a “Subscriptions Bar” at the bottom of the page that pops up whenever you are logged in which lets you auto-play and quickly scroll through new videos from channels you are subscribed to.
Pictures after the jump.

What One Man Can Have All This Power?
Posted in Tabloid Junk by Zay | Tags: Kanye West
Mr. West is in the building and after months he is finally making noise again. Yesterday, Kanye joined Twitter and gained over 200,000 followers in less than 24 hours. How crazy is that? If you refresh his page you see hundreds of new followers every time you refresh. We can only imagine what his twitter page is about to become. Everyone knows Kanye likes to express himself even when it may hurt someone else in the process.
In other Kanye News, one of his first tweets indicated that his new album would no longer be called “Good Ass Job”. It is still up in air whether the album will still drop September 14th which was once marked as “G.O.O.D. Music Day”. The day was suppose to feature other album releases from artists signed to his G.O.O.D. Music imprint. Cudi has already been pushed back from the date. So what can we expect from Kanye? Well, I posted some new footage of Kanye performing new material off the album at the Facebook offices. Yesterday he did the same at the Twitter offices.
Up next is the long awaited “Power” video. You can see a screen cap above from the Marco Brambilla directed video. Mr. Brambilla said the project – which he preferred to describe as a “video work that’s been commissioned by Kanye to accompany the music” rather than a music video – was his and Mr. West’s attempt to answer the question, “How do you visually paint a portrait of power?” The video is expected to drop next week on Kanye West’s official site. We can’t wait. For more on the video visit NYTIMES.
New Music: Nelly – “Just A Dream”
Posted in New Music by Zay | Tags: Nelly
Here’s the second single “Just A Dream” from St. Lunatic rapper Nelly’s upcoming “Nelly 5.0″ album. I guess this one will be sent to Pop radio. It reminds me a bit of “Over & Over”…you know his Country smash hit? Sounds like a hit to me. It was produced by Jim Jonsin who is killing the pop charts right now!

New Music: Wale – “Ambitious Girl”
Posted in New Music by Zay | Tags: Wale
“I rather you tell me to hit you later because you have to finish a paper, than be in my face asking for a rosé cup.” I don’t know where this track came from, but I am really feeling it. It’s like a quick spoken word joint where Wale is just expressing his love for an “Ambitious Girl” or a go girl. I highly recommend this one.

New Music: Tracks from the Score of Tron: Legacy
Posted in New Music by Malkie B | Tags: Daft Punk, Electronica, House, Tron
New leaks confirmed for the upcoming film Tron: Legacy. The score will be entirely produced by Daft Punk. So far it seems like these tracks compliment the film perfectly, giving me a feeling the I’m in an electronic arcade game, which is exactly what Tron is. At that same time they give me the epic movie feel, you can hear the strings throughout. Will the movie live up to the hype? We’ll see this December.

New Music: Pretty Ricky – “Cookie Cutter”

Seems like Pretty Ricky drops an album every year doesn’t it? Well the boys are back and this time they are taking a different approach. They are leaving the sex talk alone on their “Cookie Cutter” radio friendly track. What’s surprising is that I really like it. Check out their first single from their upcoming album, “Bluestars 2″.

Breaking New First: Rochelle Jordan
Posted in Breaking New First by Zay | Tags: Ameriie, Rochelle Jordan
Talented singer/songwriter Rochelle Jordan was born in England, but moved to Canada at the young age of 4. Addicted to TV talent shows such as Star Search and video tapes of Micheal Jackson, Jordan was already plotting out her career in music at age 13. To Rochelle, the 90’s was the real Music and she really wanted to be apart of this movement. When she turned 16, she formed a group, “2nd Level” with her cousin, but due to unorganized management and false promises, the group fell apart and Rochelle stopped singing for a couple of years.
Being at the right place at the right time at the age of 19, Rochelle found herself conversing with a producer named d10 who was at the time producing for Drake who got her a gig singing back up for Canada’s pop R&B artist Keisha Chante. This lead to more background single gigs and the formation of a band, “Intheroy”. The band toured the singer’s home town of Toronto. After a while things became slow again so she decided to through some video’s up on youtube. That is when she got a email from LA area Music Producer Klash, who had seen her videos. The production Company that Klash works for, Protostar Entertainment promptly had the singer flown to Los Angeles to record for weeks at a time. Since working with Klash, Rochelle has written numerous songs amongst them a Tyra Banks Reality show theme song, and she has also been tapped to write with fellow Canadian Drake.
She is now being scouted by several labels so in order to show herself an true artist in todays internet era Rochelle is putting out her own ep titled “A L I E N P H A S E” a piece of work that took 14 months to finish. “A L I E N P H A S E” is a collective of songs about enjoying life and the emotions that are attached. “Each song is like an emotion we have all felt at some point and time”, states music producer Klash “We hope you like it.”
