Drake and Eminem currently have more nominations than hit records this year. Possibly because Recovery and Thank Me Later were the only albums to move units this year. Sadly, there isn’t much variety and many artists who invested thousands of dollars in artistic direction for their music videos feel slighted. With amazing videos that the Black Eyed Peas have produced and Rihanna’s semi-triumphant, but mostly bittersweet return after the “Chris Brown incident” – many are asking – UMMM what about the rest of the videos that came out in 2010? And WHY is Taylor Swift’s “Fifteen” nominated – didn’t that come out last year. Seemingly, the 2010’s VMA’s seem to want to provoke less trouble by providing less variety – making the soon to be Winners all the more obvious. No need for Kanye to interrupt another award show … I assume.
