Breaking New First: Rochelle Jordan
Posted in Breaking New First by Zay | Tags: Ameriie, Rochelle Jordan
Talented singer/songwriter Rochelle Jordan was born in England, but moved to Canada at the young age of 4. Addicted to TV talent shows such as Star Search and video tapes of Micheal Jackson, Jordan was already plotting out her career in music at age 13. To Rochelle, the 90’s was the real Music and she really wanted to be apart of this movement. When she turned 16, she formed a group, “2nd Level” with her cousin, but due to unorganized management and false promises, the group fell apart and Rochelle stopped singing for a couple of years.
Being at the right place at the right time at the age of 19, Rochelle found herself conversing with a producer named d10 who was at the time producing for Drake who got her a gig singing back up for Canada’s pop R&B artist Keisha Chante. This lead to more background single gigs and the formation of a band, “Intheroy”. The band toured the singer’s home town of Toronto. After a while things became slow again so she decided to through some video’s up on youtube. That is when she got a email from LA area Music Producer Klash, who had seen her videos. The production Company that Klash works for, Protostar Entertainment promptly had the singer flown to Los Angeles to record for weeks at a time. Since working with Klash, Rochelle has written numerous songs amongst them a Tyra Banks Reality show theme song, and she has also been tapped to write with fellow Canadian Drake.
She is now being scouted by several labels so in order to show herself an true artist in todays internet era Rochelle is putting out her own ep titled “A L I E N P H A S E” a piece of work that took 14 months to finish. “A L I E N P H A S E” is a collective of songs about enjoying life and the emotions that are attached. “Each song is like an emotion we have all felt at some point and time”, states music producer Klash “We hope you like it.”

Heard about this guy a while ago, but I finally checked out his single, “Ghetto Dance” Featuring Rick Ross. The guy is talented! This is one of the newest artists signed to Roc Nation, but he’s had plenty experience in the game. He has written tracks for T- Pain (”Download”), Ludacris (”One More Drink”), and more. Born in Philadelphia and raised in Hartford, Connecticut from the age of eight, Range moved to New York City after graduating from college with a degree in business. “I’ve been into music since I was a kid,” the twenty-four year old explains. “First I was into rap, but when I was twelve I began taking saxophone lessons. From that point, it was all about my music.”
He is currently preparing material for his Star Roc/Roc Nation debut, “No Strings” which is due early 2011. Range feels he is constantly furthering his education in the rhythmic science of music. His first single is the upbeat and infectios, “Ghetto Dance” which features Rick Ross. “I’m learning how to play guitar as well as studying how to engineer a record,” says Range. “Right now, I am constantly inspired.” In addition, Range is also working with Ne-Yo and Ryan Leslie. “Those guys are geniuses at what they do. They’ve made working on this project that much more exciting.”

Breaking New First: Siergio

“There are artist who have something, there are artists who just got it, and upon hearing his voice for the first time, it is obvious that singer/songwriter Siergio Larry is one who has it. With an irresistible blend of soul, funk, R&B and pop, he invokes greats from the past while bringing something new to the game. He honors the roots of R&B while imagining it greater. A native of Chicago, Illinois, at the tender age of 5, his family discovered his powerful, rich, full and mature voice. He often times took to songwriting to document his several experiences of love, pain and life. Throughout the years of his adolescence, his voice developed and grew heights his family never expected. He began performing at local talent shows, school musicals, recording at local studios, and performing at weddings. He is humble, leveled, determined, passionate, talented and extraordinary. Music is his life. “I don’t know where I’d be without music. Music has gotten me through hell and anguish. I cannot give up on it now. I would be a fool to walk away from it now,” Siergio professes while currently pursuing music in Atlanta, Ga. A young and refreshing talent, he is ready to take on any of music’s heavyweights.”
Here is the newcomers new single, “Love Me” which is taken from his upcoming EP “Hi” which drops August 10th! Check him out and find out more information at http://www.siergio.com

He recently dropped his new EP “The Growth Spurt” online and it is full of musical growth. The EP showcases J. Smith rapping and even singing over fresh tracks. His first single from the project is the catchy futuristic club banger, “Hit That”. The project also contains the old school club friendly, “Life On The Scene” and the smooth “Time For Us”. Posted in Breaking New First, In The Mix, Music by Zay | Tags: EarthGang
People usually hit me up on twitter and ask who or what is EarthGang? Well I guess it’s time for a proper introduction! EarthGang is a fresh new group out of Atlanta, Georgia. They really can’t be classified into one category which is what makes them even more sick. Usually compared to pioneers OutKast, the group prefers to drop the comparisons and just be appreciated for the greatness that they are themselves. They recently released a new mixtape called “The Better Party” with the best of their material. While it is just the beginning for the group, they have already opened up for the likes of Fabolous, LeToya Luckett, and Jeremih. Check out their mixtape and website after the jump. You won’t be disappointed.

For More On Wish Visit Her Myspace
I recently came across this talented singer on Twitter not too long ago. I saw her picture and I was like she looks like she has some hot material (LOL, a little crazy right?). Without hesitation I clicked on her Myspace link and heard a couple of tracks and then I found a link to download her album on her page. This girl is extremely talented and it’s a surprise that she isn’t on someone’s label already. She has the image, the voice, and her style is a little different. “It’s been a long road even up until this very point, even without a deal. It’s rough, but I don’t plan on quitting. Ever.”
