This day, 52 years ago a baby named Michael Jackson opened his eyes. This baby boy would grow up to be the man celebrated the world over. Last year, Michael Jackson departed this world; but the love and adulation from his fans never will.

Jazmine Sullivan Wants You To Love Her Back!

Jazmine is really getting the ball going for the release of her new album “Love Me Back”, which is expected to hit stores October 5th! Yesterday, it was announced that Jazmine would be joining Mary J. Blige and El Debarge on a new tour. We also found out that Jazmine went into the studio with Swizz Beatz and Mary J. Blige to record toe official remix to “Holding You Down (Goin’ In Circles)”! The video and remix should be dropping any day now! Now we have the official Tracklisting for the album. Timbaland In Trouble?! Possible Suicide Attempt!

Just weeks after the Fantasia breaking news we have learned that Timbaland may have also attempted suicide! Here is the report from TMZ! There is no confirmation from his reps, but we definitely have Timbaland in our prayers!

According to sources, the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department put out a “possible suicide attempt” APB just before 5 PM PT yesterday. A helicopter and squad cars went on the hunt for the rapper/producer’s Escalade.

Here’s what we’re told happened … Timbaland was on the phone earlier in the day with his brother-in-law … deeply upset about something. We’re told one of the things that was eating at him was a theft at his Malibu residence a day before. Someone had stolen a crazy expensive Jacob & Co. watch — valued at $2 million — and Timbaland suspected it might have been someone he trusted.

Timbaland left his home yesterday and began driving. Family members couldn’t locate him, became extremely worried and called the Sheriff’s Department.

We’re told the helicopter located the Escalade, ground crews pulled Timbaland over and began talking to him. At some point they put Timbaland in a patrol car and took him to his residence, where they continued speaking with him and family members.

Deputies called for paramedics to come and evaluate Timbaland. After the evaluation, paramedics determined Timbaland was not a threat to himself and left.

We’re told the Sheriff’s Department is investigating the theft of Timbaland’s jewelry and they have possible suspects.

Timbaland’s rep could not be reached for comment.

Breaking New Interview with Fantasia

You may know who Fantasia is: season 3 American Idol winner, Grammy nominated artist, mother, sister, etc, etc, but what you may not know is that, SHE’S GOING CRAZY.

About two weeks ago Fantasia OVERDOSED on aspirin, NO Wayyy, yea its all true. The young singer was basically trying to KILL herself. Now you may ask, WHY?, well watch the video after the jump!

American Idol Winner. Grammy nominated. Actress on Broadway, Lifetime movie, and her own vH1 show. Suicidal. The beginning five acknowledgements could be brought to mind when trying to discuss Fantasia Burrino. Despite being “functionally illiterate” she found success beyond measures in an industry that usually discards many talented African Americans. However, recently besides earning her GED and escaping foreclosure – her name became synonymous with another title that many disdain.

That title would be “husband stealer” – Fantasia, a North Carolina hometown hero fell for a handsome married man that claimed that he was no longer in love with his wife and was actually falling for Barrino. However, when explosive rumors ruptured on the scene that Barrino and her lover Antwuan Cook liked to record their fling together.

However, one happy partner in the love triangle was of course Cook’s wife.  Paula decided to sue Fantasia for monetary damages. Fantasia Barrino sadly, thought of another way of paying for the damage she caused – with her life.  Thankfully, Barrino was unsuccessful and hopefully this can serve as an example of truly learning that the wages of adultery are sorrow.

Imma Be Getting No Nominations

… seems like this years VMA’s wont be a Russian Roulette.

Drake and Eminem currently have more nominations than hit records this year. Possibly because Recovery and Thank Me Later were the only albums to move units this year. Sadly, there isn’t much variety and many artists who invested thousands of dollars in artistic direction for their music videos feel slighted. With amazing videos that the Black Eyed Peas have produced and Rihanna’s semi-triumphant, but mostly bittersweet return after the “Chris Brown incident” – many are asking – UMMM what about the rest of the videos that came out in 2010? And WHY is Taylor Swift’s “Fifteen” nominated – didn’t that come out last year. Seemingly, the 2010’s VMA’s seem to want to provoke less trouble by providing less variety – making the soon to be Winners all the more obvious. No need for Kanye to interrupt another award show … I assume.

The Unthinkable

Last weekend Alicia Cook and Kasseem Dean better known by the stage names of Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz became married. Obviously the controversy surrounding the union of this couple is pretty well known. Swizz was previously married to Mashonda a songwriter famous for penning Eve’s “Gotta Man” and Mya’s “Best of Me” however the couple split when Mashonda learned about the one year affair her husband had with Alicia Keys. Needless to say, during that same year Mashonda gave birth to Kaseem Jr. A messy divorce and melancholy letter from Mashonda later. Swizz is now divorced and remarried. Many Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz fans, respectfully — were disappointed when they learned that Mashonda felt slighted after learning that her hardly separated husband was openly dating and defending someone she was herself a fan of. However, like most star crossed lovers Keys and Beatz seem to be ready to defy all odds and prove the naysayers wrong – in a move that nearly says mind your business. Alicia Keys and Swizzy are expecting a child – sex unknown. Alicia and Kaseem appear very happy and of course she has the pregnancy glow that can foretell a hopefully phenomenal album full of odes to motherhood ala Lauryn Hill album in Alicia Key’s future.

What One Man Can Have All This Power?

Mr. West is in the building and after months he is finally making noise again. Yesterday, Kanye joined Twitter and gained over 200,000 followers in less than 24 hours. How crazy is that? If you refresh his page you see hundreds of new followers every time you refresh. We can only imagine what his twitter page is about to become. Everyone knows Kanye likes to express himself even when it may hurt someone else in the process.

In other Kanye News, one of his first tweets indicated that his new album would no longer be called “Good Ass Job”. It is still up in air whether the album will still drop September 14th which was once marked as “G.O.O.D. Music Day”. The day was suppose to feature other album releases from artists signed to his G.O.O.D. Music imprint. Cudi has already been pushed back from the date. So what can we expect from Kanye? Well, I posted some new footage of Kanye performing new material off the album at the Facebook offices. Yesterday he did the same at the Twitter offices.

Up next is the long awaited “Power” video. You can see a screen cap above from the Marco Brambilla directed video. Mr. Brambilla said the project – which he preferred to describe as a “video work that’s been commissioned by Kanye to accompany the music” rather than a music video – was his and Mr. West’s attempt to answer the question, “How do you visually paint a portrait of power?” The video is expected to drop next week on Kanye West’s official site. VH1’s Do Something Awards Airs Tonight 9/7 C!

DoSomething.org and VH1 have partnered to present The Do Something Awards to honor young people’s commitment to social change. The Do Something Awards will air live July 19, 2010 on VH1 and will be hosted by Jane Lynch (”Glee“).

The final five nominees and grant recipients were announced Monday, May 24, 2010 during a star-studded DoSomething.org event at the Apollo Theater in New York. Each nominee was honored for his or her commitment to social action with a community grant of $10,000. Of these five nominees, Do Something, Inc. with the help of your votes will select a grand prize winner which will receive a $100,000 grant for his or her cause during the live VH1 broadcast of the ceremony at the Hollywood Palladium.

Well, Chilli is going to begin filming Season 2 of her hit reality series “What Chilli Wants”. Chilli also said that she finally got T-Boz on board for another TLC album. Of course, Left Eye will never be replaced!

Soulja Boy To Shoot New Video with Ciara & Gucci Mane

Soulja Boy announced that he will be filming a video for the “Pretty Boy Swag” remix with Ciara and Gucci Mane. Hmmm…Ciara is coming with a lot of “cocky” material this go around, but what does she really have to back it up? I mean she showed her updated moves in “Ride” and created a little buzz, but where is the hot material? She is dropping her new “Basic Instinct” album next month. Hopefully, the album is more than “basic” material. The Dream recently sat down with Parlour Magazine and said that basically if this album would not do well it was pretty much a wrap for Ciara’s career. In other news, The Dream’s third album “Love King” opened in on the Billboard charts at #4 selling less than 55,000 copies. What’s really good? Check out the “Pretty Boy Swag” remix below.

earStyle X BET AWARDS 10: The Rundown

Wow. I have to say that the 2010 BET Awards was definitely the best one yet. Even the Red Carpet show was entertaining! There’s some moments that I want to get into, but first I want to just give a big thanks to BET for throwing the BET Awards Viewing Party in Philadelphia! It was a success and thanks for the dope customized Ipod Nano!

Now…on to the show. The award show had so many great moments, but I can’t cover them all. I will just cover some of my favorite moments and get into a few of the not so great moments of the show.

Kanye West – “Power”

What better way to open the show than with the return of KanYe West? Man…that definitely set the pace for the show. The backdrop was simply amazing and very much like the Glow In The Dark tour. KanYe is back and he’s coming with it. The only flaw with the performance was that BET had to censor like EVERY word, we heard maybe 10% of the song, but it’s all good. I’m ready for September…I am sure he will do a “Good Ass Job”. Shout out to BMF for the footage!

Following that amazing performance was an amazing show opener by the wonderful host Queen Latifah. Queen Latifah did her thing tonight! There is nothing worst than a good show with a bad host and I am more than happy that Queen Latifah was chosen to do the job. While she may not have performed the latest big girl rendition of a Beyonce dance like Mo’Nique, she really held her own and kept the momentum going for the evening! Kudos to Queen Latifah.

Diddy- Dirty Money ft. Nicki Minaj, Rick Ross, and T.I. – “Hello, Good Morning”

Pyro, lots of smoke, and lots of star power were just three factors of one of the hottest performances of the night. Diddy and his Dirty Money crew (Wassup Kalenna?!) ripped the stage with their remix of their hit single “Hello, Good Morning”. Rick Ross, T.I., and Nicki Minaj were great additions to an already great performance. Our only complaint is that at times the smoke kind of took the limelight…literally. We spent a great deal of time looking at silhouettes and listening to backing tracks. Other than that Diddy and Dirty Money killed their choreography and had the whole place rocking! Now we are waiting to finally board this “Last Train To Paris”. It’s been scheduled to take off for a year now, but the album is now set to drop this fall! Let’s work.

Mike Epps was one of the few things that just did not work for the night. He was not funny at all. I’m not hating. I am just speaking my mind. Oh and I am glad Debra Lee kept it short and did not bring up Don Cornelius. Oh yeah another thing that could have been avoided…the “Music Matters” section was a great idea. Big ups to J. Cole for getting a few minutes to do his thing…but come on Debarge should have left that one alone and that one girl who sound worst than Keyshia Cole. I understand artists like to surprise the crowd and do things that make sense for the audince, but B.o.B. should have called up Hayley Williams for “Airplanes pt. II”  and left Keyshia Cole in her seat. She did that great song NO JUSTICE and she was a vocal disaster in my opinion. Eminem literally recovered that performance and saved it from being a complete wreck. Kudos.

Usher- “There Goes My Baby”

They call him U-S-H-E-R. Usher could have easily ripped the stage with “OMG”, but he chose to cool the night down with a decent performance of “There Goes My Baby”. Watching the performance reminded me of his earlier days. I think it was the way he breezed through the verses and commanded the stage doing the minimal. Good job Usher…I wonder what will be the next single after “There Goes My Baby”.

The Chris Brown Michael Jackson Tribute

Epic. Epic. Epic. Job well done Chris Brown. This was by far the best Michael Jackson tribute. It was an emotional roller coaster, but he killed it! He put his heart on that stage. Shout out to everyone saying he faked his emotions…come on, really? Get a life. Good job Chris Brown…I hope things work out for you!

Congratulations to everyone who won an award. Wait. Video of the Year went to Beyonce and Lady GaGa for “Video Phone”….I am sorry, but that was the biggest WTF moment of the evening. Congrats to Alicia Keys and all of her awards, y’all had to love Prince’s reaction to her hopping her pregnant self up on that piano. She did her thing though! Congrats to John Legend, Prince, and everyone else. It was a great show!

Amerie Rocks New Cut and Reunites with Rich Harrison!

Every artist have that one producer who brings the best out of them. Janet Jackson comes complete with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, Brandy and Rodney Jerkins make magic, Monica and Missy make the hits, and then there is Amerie and Rich Harrison. Rich has been absent from the last two Amerie projects, but maybe the “1 Thing” and “Why Don’t We Fall In Love” producer may be reuniting with the Korean singer, actress, and writer in the studio! We are waiting on that magic to occur. It’s necessary!

She also performed her new single “Who’s Gonna Love U” off of her upcoming “Cymatica” album.
