New Music: Shareefa ft. Raheem DeVaughn – “Ya Love”
Posted in New Music by Zay | Tags: Raheem DeVaughn, Shareefa
I saw the two artists and I already knew the singing was doing to be on point. This is a dope track right here. Nice collaboration. Definitely 1,000 times better than Nicki’s “Your Love” lol. Check out this one if you appreciate some good R&B.

Music Review: Raheem DeVaughn – The Love & War Masterpeace
Posted in Reviews by Zay | Tags: Raheem DeVaughn
Looking for some feel good music with a purpose of peace? Look no further, Raheem DeVaughn is delivering positive good music and so much more on his latest offering, “The Love & War Masterpeace”. The R&B hippie and Neo-Soul Rockstar really delivered a beyond solid piece of work and you should definitely hit up your local retailer and support the project! Check out the full review after the jump.
Track by Track Review.
01. “Dr. Cornel West Intro” – Yes! Dr. Cornel West himself is all over this project, so you already know it’s going to be a good journey from the beginning. Dr. Cornell West proclaims as Raheem DeVaughn as the future of great music.
02. “Bulletproof (ft. Ludacris)” – You have probably heard this single on your favorite radio station…if they play good music. You would never expect gun shots to sound so smooth and relaxing. Ludacris comes with his A game and states, “My future is ever clear/180 proof”…we couldn’t disagree. This is definitely a track to check out!
03. “The Greatness (ft. Wale)” – DeVaughn gets help from fellow DMV artist Wale on this track which praises the greatness of a woman. “Under the gloss of your lips is greatness/ Greatness underneath it all/ Beautiful inside out/ Love you inside out/ When you don’t feel beautiful at all…look at mirror on wall” The song contains really nice lyrics, but my favorite is the opening “Konichiwa Ladies”… if you know me you know that is a staple lol.
04. “I Don’t Care” – This is a good track and it gives off a really feel good feeling. The track kind of reminds me of Robin Thicke’s “Magic”. Am I the only who hear the resemblance?
05. “Black and Blue” – Here’s Raheem DeVaughn’s fight against domestic abuse. “Love ain’t knocking you on the ground/Calling you out of your name” Really nice track and definitely relevant to these days.
06. “Mr. Right” – When I hear this I get CCB’s “Phatty” in my head for some reason. Maybe I am just crazy…The title pretty much explains the message of this song, but it is one of my favorites on the album!
07. “Dr. Cornell West (Interlude)” – Just an interlude…don’t really mind it.
08. “Fragile (ft. Malik Yusef)” – Ladies, if your heart requires a little Tender Loving Care put all of your faith in Raheem. Nice track.
09. “My Wife” – This track has a nice message about not looking for a girlfriend, a married woman, and etc., but looking for that true wife. Nice message, but this is one of the weakest on the album.
10. “B.O.B.” – Raheem isn’t singing about Bombs over Baghdad on this track, but he’s speaking about something that can’t do it like him…a battery operated boyfriend. This track definitely caught me off guard, but it’s a good one!
11. “Bedroom” – An average track with an old school feel. Not bad.
12. “Microphone” – Another filler track…it’s alright.
13. “Garden Of Love” – Nice track!
14. “Dr. Cornell West P.S.A.” – Mr. West is back to close the album. Again, don’t really mind it. The interludes really kept the album flowing.
15. ”Revelations 2010 (ft. Damian Marley)” – This is one of my favorites on the album. The only thing missing is the homie Nasir Jones.
Overall Album Rating:
4/5
